Mother's Day Afternoon Tea Card

This week's blogpost just had to be my Mother's Day card.  As I've invited my Mother over for a lovely Afternoon Tea on Mother's Day, I thought I'd do her card on this theme too.  We also both love having a cup of tea (made properly in a pot and served in a cup not a mug).  So raise a cup (or glass) to all lovely Mums on their special day!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Inkadinkadoo, cArt-us,
Colouring Mediums: Memento Sweet Plum, Encore Ink Pad Pink, Promarker Pens
Paper & Card: Karen Neuburger, plain card from stash
Tools: Cameo Silhouette, Spellbinders, Grand Calibur, Martha Stewart
Embellishments: Hand-made Pearl & Crystal Hat Pins, mulberry flowers, double satin ribbon, doily

I used my Cameo Silhouette to cut out the filigree teacup and tea pot.  I used the weld divide tool to "separate" the tea pot lid from the tea pot, as I felt it added something to the project.  As this is for my lovely Mum, I used some of my most precious Karen Neuburger Papers (which are dwindling in my stash) to accent the tea pot and cup, using them as the top layer of the teapot and the under-layer of the cup.

From scraps of the patterned paper, I cut out flowers using my spellbinders die, and stamped out some butterflies.  I stamped swirls onto the plain card layers of the feature flower on the teapot.

I punched out the card base using a Martha Stewart Punch Around The Page set and inked the edges, and created layers using Labels 1 from Spellbinders. To add further interest I pricked through a swirl pattern onto the biggest label layer, and also put the middle label layer through an embossing folder before topping it with a printed vellum.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Dream Valley Challenges - Mother's Day
Fashionable Stamping Challenges - Swirls
Pile it On - Oh Yummy

I love to read your comments, so if you have enjoyed looking at this card (or even if you haven’t), do leave a comment, I do appreciate it!
